i How does Restory's photo restoration actually work? +

Restory combines the world's most advanced AI restoration models — Topaz Labs (Upscale, Colorisation, Dust and Scratch v2), SUPIR diffusion, BiRefNet, CodeFormer, and Google Gemini Pro. Each of our eight tools uses a purpose-built model specialised for a specific job, so results stay faithful to your original photograph.

Your photo is uploaded securely to our cloud infrastructure, processed by the chosen AI model, and delivered back to your device — usually within 30 to 60 seconds.

ii Will Restory change my face or my loved ones' features? +

No. Restory uses identity-locked restoration models. Unlike AI apps that reimagine photos and alter faces, our tools are purpose-built to preserve the original subject. Your memories, your features, and your loved ones stay exactly as they should be.

iii How much does Restory cost? What are credits? +

Restory uses a flexible credit system. Most AI tools cost only one to two credits per generation, and SUPIR Denoise (premium) costs five credits per use.

Subscription plans:

  • Weekly Plan — $9.99 / week, 40 credits
  • Monthly Plan — $29.99 / month, 125 credits (save 30% vs. packs)

One-time credit packs (no expiration):

  • Small Pack — $9.99, 25 credits
  • Medium Pack — $19.99, 60 credits
  • Large Pack — $39.99, 130 credits

All prices are in USD and may vary slightly by region.

iv How do I cancel my subscription? +

All subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel at any time:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  • Tap your name at the top (Apple ID)
  • Tap Subscriptions
  • Select Restory
  • Tap Cancel Subscription

Your subscription must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. You will keep access to your credits until the end of the current billing period.

v How do I restore my purchases on a new device? +

Open Restory on your new device and go to Settings → Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Your subscription and any unused credit packs will be restored automatically.

If restoring does not work, please email us at support@restoryapp.site with your Apple receipt number and we will help you sort it out.

vi Can I get a refund? +

All purchases on Restory go through Apple's App Store, which handles all billing and refunds. To request a refund:

  • Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Sign in with your Apple ID
  • Find your Restory purchase and select Report a Problem
  • Follow Apple's instructions to request a refund

Refund decisions are made by Apple, not Restory. If you have an issue with the app itself, please email support@restoryapp.site first — we would love the chance to help.

vii What happens to my photos? Are they used for AI training? +

No, your photos are never used for AI training. Restory takes privacy seriously:

  • Photos are uploaded over an encrypted connection
  • Processing happens on industry-leading cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud and Replicate)
  • Images are deleted after processing
  • We do not share, sell, or use your photos for AI model training

viii My result looks wrong or low quality. What should I do? +

A few things can help:

  • Start with the clearest original — the more detail in the source, the better the AI can restore it.
  • Pick the right tool — Face Restore for portraits, Descratch for physical damage, Denoise for grain, Enhance for resolution.
  • Try SUPIR Denoise (5 credits) for the most damaged or noisy photos — it is our most powerful restoration model.

If you are still not happy with the result, email us at support@restoryapp.site with the original photo (if you are comfortable sharing) and we will gladly look into it and refund the credits.

ix Processing failed or my credits were charged without a result. +

If a restoration fails due to a technical issue on our side, your credits are automatically refunded within a few minutes. If this does not happen, please email support@restoryapp.site with:

  • The tool you were trying to use
  • The approximate date and time of the failed request
  • Your device model and iOS version

We will refund your credits and investigate the issue.

x Why does Restory need access to my photos? +

Restory asks for permission to access your photo library so you can pick the photos you want to restore, and to save the results back to your gallery. We only access photos you specifically select — we never scan or read your full library in the background.

You can change photo permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Restory.

xi Why am I getting push notifications? +

Restory sends push notifications when your photo processing is finished, so you do not have to keep the app open while you wait. You can turn notifications off any time in Settings → Notifications → Restory on your iPhone.

xii Which iOS versions and devices are supported? +

Restory supports iPhone devices running iOS 15.0 or later. Because processing happens in the cloud, older iPhones still get the same high-quality results as the latest Pro models.

xiii Do credits from packs expire? +

No. Credits purchased from Small, Medium, and Large credit packs never expire. Subscription credits (Weekly and Monthly plans) refresh each billing period and do not roll over to the next period.

Manage your subscription.

Step 01

View your subscription

Open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone to see status, renewal date and plan.

Step 02

Cancel anytime

Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal from the same Subscriptions screen. Access continues until the period ends.

Step 03

Change your plan

Upgrade or downgrade between Weekly and Monthly from the Subscriptions screen. Changes apply next cycle.

Step 04

Request a refund

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to submit a request.
