This Privacy Policy describes how Restory ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Restory mobile application. By using Restory, you agree to the practices described herein.
Information we collect.
Photos you upload
When you use Restory, the photos you select are uploaded to our cloud infrastructure for processing by our AI models. We only access photos that you specifically choose — we do not scan or read your photo library in the background.
Account & purchase information
Restory uses Apple's In-App Purchase system for all subscriptions and credit packs. We do not collect or store any payment card information — this is handled entirely by Apple. We may receive a purchase receipt from Apple to validate and restore your purchases.
Device & usage data
We collect anonymous diagnostic and usage data to improve the App. This may include:
- Device model and iOS version
- App version and language
- Feature usage (which tools are used most)
- Crash logs and error reports
This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to improve stability and performance.
Push notification tokens
If you allow push notifications, we store an anonymous device token so we can notify you when your photo is ready. You can disable notifications any time in your iPhone Settings.
How we use your information.
We use the information we collect to:
- Process the photos you upload and deliver your AI restoration results
- Send push notifications when your photo is ready
- Validate and restore your subscription or credit pack purchases
- Diagnose bugs, improve stability, and develop new features
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with our legal obligations
How we store and protect your photos.
Photos are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and processed on industry-leading cloud infrastructure, including Google Cloud and Replicate. These providers meet the highest security and privacy standards.
Your uploaded photos and the AI-generated results are deleted from our servers after processing, typically within a short retention window needed only to deliver the result back to your device.
We never use your photos to train any AI model, and we do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose your photos to any third party for marketing, training, or any unrelated purpose.
Third-party services.
Restory uses the following third-party services to deliver its features:
- Google Cloud — hosting and cloud infrastructure
- Replicate — running the AI restoration models
- Topaz Labs — Image Upscale, Image Colorisation, and Dust and Scratch v2 models
- Google Gemini Pro — Avatar and Baby Prediction features
- Apple — App Store, In-App Purchases, and push notifications
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and processes only the data strictly necessary to deliver the service. None of them are permitted to use your photos for training.
Children's privacy.
Restory is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@restoryapp.site and we will delete it.
Your rights and choices.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to request correction or deletion of your data
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@restoryapp.site. You can also:
- Disable photo access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Restory
- Disable notifications in Settings → Notifications → Restory
- Cancel your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Delete the App at any time from your home screen
Data retention.
Uploaded photos are deleted after processing. Anonymous diagnostic data may be retained for as long as needed to improve the App. Purchase receipts are kept for the period required by Apple and applicable tax and legal requirements.
International data transfers.
Because our cloud providers operate globally, your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use providers that comply with appropriate data protection standards, including GDPR-compliant safeguards where applicable.
Changes to this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you within the App.
